Reuse one caption while inserting values saved for each social profile.

Before you start

Decide which profiles need the field and what value each should use. You need access to manage the affected profiles.

Open the feature

Open Settings > Workspace > Social Accounts, then choose Custom Fields from a profile’s menu. The composer also offers Insert custom field for selected profiles.

Steps

  1. Choose Add custom field.
  2. Enter a field name, such as city, and its value for the profile.
  3. Save your changes.
  4. In the composer, insert the field into your caption, for example Visit us in {{city}}.
  5. Check each selected profile’s value and preview before scheduling.

Expected result

The field is replaced with the value saved for that profile when the post is published. This also applies to first comments, edited posts, retried first comments and posts recycled from a collection. First comments on X keep the field as typed.

Example

Save city as Karachi for one branch profile and Lahore for another, then reuse a caption containing {{city}}.

Limits and permissions

  • A profile can have up to 20 fields.
  • Field names allow letters, numbers and underscores, up to 30 characters. Values allow up to 500 characters.
  • When adding fields to several selected profiles, check the target list before saving.

Troubleshooting

  • Field name is required: enter a name using the allowed characters.
  • Value cannot be only spaces: enter a meaningful value.
  • Someone else changed the fields: reload the latest values before saving again.
  • "Could not save on" lists some profiles: those profiles were not updated. A profile may already have 20 fields, or another change landed at the same time. Reopen the profile, check its fields and try again.
