Organize posts with labels and manage the labels available to your workspace.

Before you start

Select the intended workspace. Label creation and management depend on your role; Authors can request a label from an admin.

Open the feature

Open the post’s label picker. Choose Manage to open Manage labels when available.

Steps

  1. Search for a label in the picker and select it to apply it to the post. Check the selected labels before saving the post.
  2. To create a label in Manage labels, type its name in Search or create labels, then choose Add "name" label for that name.
  3. Use an active label’s edit action to change its details. Choose Done Adding when finished.
  4. To retire a label, use its delete action and read the confirmation, including any affected automation rules. Choose Delete and archive to proceed.
  5. To make it available again, find it under Archived Labels and choose its restore action.
  6. As an Author, search for the missing name and choose Request "name" label. Enter the label name and optional reason, then send the request. Save the post as a draft while an admin reviews it.

Expected result

Selected labels stay with the saved post. Archived labels disappear from the picker but remain on posts that already carry them and in label analytics.

Example

Create a Launch label for a campaign, apply it to its posts, then archive it when the campaign is finished.

Limits and permissions

Creating labels requires Manage Team permission. Otherwise use Request a label to ask someone with permission.

  • A label request does not immediately create or apply the label.
  • Archiving can change automation rules that use the label, including deleting a rule left with no labels. Read the confirmation.
  • Restoring a label makes it selectable again; review any affected automation separately.
  • Workspace publishing rules may require a label before scheduling.

Troubleshooting

  • A label is missing: search Archived Labels or check the workspace.
  • You see Request instead of Add: ask a workspace admin to create it.
  • Scheduling requires a label: apply an available label or keep the post as a draft.
