Review posts from an approval invitation
On this page
Review the posts a team has sent you through an external approval link.
Before you start
Use the approval invitation sent to you. Check the sender and intended brand before making a decision. Your approval can allow a post to proceed toward publishing.
Open the feature
Open the review link in your approval invitation email.
Steps
- Read the displayed post, social account, media and posting time.
- Read the stage information to see whether your decision is still required.
- Choose Approve for content you accept, or Decline and enter feedback for content that needs correction.
- If a dialog offers to apply the decision to matching versions on other networks, inspect its listed versions and choose the intended scope. Edited versions can need a separate review.
- If the posting time has passed, review the new-time or immediate-posting choice before confirming it.
- Check the resulting status. After approving, a post can remain pending while another approver or stage completes its review. After declining, check the recorded decision rather than assuming the post returned to Pending.
Expected result
The team receives your decision. Finalized posts leave the review list; posts awaiting further approval can remain with updated stage information. No Posts to Review means the current list has no outstanding posts for you.
Example
An agency sends a launch announcement for approval. Check each network version and decline the one with the wrong launch date, explaining the correction needed.
Limits and permissions
Use the arrow beside Approve for Approve with comment. Decline is hidden when the post has already been declined.
- The link gives access to its approval task, not general workspace access.
- Approving a stage does not prove the post has published successfully.
- Grouped decisions can partly succeed. Read the result and check remaining versions before retrying.
- An expired or completed invitation may no longer be usable.
Troubleshooting
- The link is no longer valid: ask its sender for a new link.
- The post remains pending: read the stage banner; another reviewer or stage may still be required.
- A grouped decision partly failed: inspect the remaining posts and retry only the undecided versions.
- The content needs changing: decline it with feedback rather than approving an inaccurate post.
