Write a sequence of connected posts for a supported network.

Before you start

Select a supported X (Twitter), Threads, Bluesky or Mastodon account. Thread availability and the number of posts depend on your account and selected network.

Open the feature

Open Publish Content, select your account and choose Thread or Add Thread in the composer.

Steps

  1. Write the first post.
  2. In Start Thread, write the next post.
  3. Choose Add another post for each additional part.
  4. Review the text, attachments and validation for every part. Remove unwanted parts before continuing.
  5. Choose Done to return the thread to the composer.
  6. Review the destination and save a draft or choose the intended posting time.

Expected result

The composer keeps the thread parts together for the selected account. Choosing Done prepares the thread; scheduling or publishing is a separate action.

Example

Split a product tutorial into an introduction and two short steps, then save the thread as a draft for review.

Limits and permissions

  • Every part must meet the selected network’s text and media requirements.
  • The add control disappears when the applicable limit is reached.
  • A thread can partially publish. Check each part’s result before retrying. Retrying an X thread posts only the parts that didn't publish.
  • On X, each part must fit your account's character limit. If X refuses a part as too long, the error shows the limit and the part's length. Shorten that part, then retry.
  • On Bluesky, an image over 1 MB in any part is resized automatically before it's posted. If it's still too large after resizing, that part fails with a message asking for a smaller image.

Troubleshooting

  • Thread is missing: check your selected network and plan.
  • A part has an error: fix that part before leaving the editor.
  • Only some parts published: inspect the failed parts and follow the recovery guide rather than recreating the whole thread.

If a reply in your thread doesn't post

On X (Twitter) and Bluesky, a thread whose first post went live but whose reply failed shows as Partially Published, not Failed. Click Retry on a reply outlined in red in the post preview in Calendar to open Start Thread, edit the replies that weren't posted and send only those. See Resolve a failed or incomplete post.
