Find out which posts in a bulk upload weren't scheduled, and on which accounts, so you can fix and upload only those.

Before you start

  • Keep your original CSV file handy.
  • Errors show up in two places: on Review Posts before you upload, and on All Done! after the upload finishes.

Open the feature

Choose Publish in the left sidebar, then Bulk Upload. If an upload has finished, its result is shown on the All Done! step.

Steps

  1. On Review Posts, look at the Status column. Click the arrow next to Error to see the reasons for that row.
  2. Check Ready rows for a Not scheduled on note. It names each network the row will skip and why, for example Not scheduled on Instagram Professional: Image URL is required.
  3. Fix those rows in your CSV, or untick them to skip them for now. Unticked rows aren't scheduled and aren't listed in the error file.
  4. After the upload, if you see Posts Partially Failed or Processing Failed, click Download next to Error File.
  5. Open the error file. Each failed row appears once. Channel lists every account it failed on, and Error Reasons says why.
  6. Fix the rows. The error file uses the template's columns, so you can edit it directly.
  7. Click Discard & Upload New CSV and upload the error file, not the original. A row an account already has from an earlier bulk upload, with every column unchanged, is skipped on that account. A row you changed counts as a new post on every account you select, so select only accounts that still need it, and check Queue and Calendar first. If rows need different accounts, retry them in separate uploads.

Expected result

The retry schedules the rows each selected account still needs. Unchanged rows an account already has from an earlier bulk upload are skipped there, and the result says how many, for example 12 posts were already scheduled from an earlier upload, so we skipped them. A repeating row that was only partly scheduled gets just its missing repetitions.

Example

You uploaded 20 posts to your Facebook Page and YouTube channel and see Posts Partially Failed. In the error file, one row lists your YouTube channel under Channel with YouTube title is required. Add a Video Title to that row, then check Queue and Calendar for that video on YouTube. If it is not already scheduled, retry only that row with the YouTube channel selected. Facebook is not selected for this retry.

Limits and permissions

Each row offers Edit and schedule and Delete Post. While processing is in progress, Cancel processing stops it; review the resulting rows before retrying.

  • A new upload sends every row to every account you tick. Only unchanged rows from an earlier bulk upload are skipped. A changed row, a post from an upload more than 30 days old or made before this was added, or a post you created another way isn't recognized, so a retry can still create a duplicate there.
  • Two uploads of the same file running at the same time can both schedule the same rows. Wait for the first to finish.
  • A repeating row whose first date has already passed isn't restored. It fails with Please schedule your post at a future date.
  • A row marked Error fails on all your selected accounts, or has a problem that blocks it everywhere (such as an invalid Pinterest link). Ticked Error rows aren't scheduled.
  • Processing Failed doesn't always mean nothing was scheduled. Check Queue and Calendar before uploading again.

Troubleshooting

  • The Error File isn't shown: the upload may still be running. Wait for In Progress... to change, or come back to Bulk Upload later.
  • The same row fails again: read Error Reasons again, and check you're using the current template's column headings.
  • A row shows "Date must not be in the past": change its date and time to a future one.
  • You see "One of your selected accounts needs to be reconnected": click Re-authenticate Now, reconnect the account, then upload its rows again. See Reconnect a social account.
