Save sets of hashtags you use often, then add a whole set to a post in one click.

Before you start

  • Hashtag groups are available within the workspace you're in.
  • Write your hashtags with a space between each one, for example #socialchamp #socialmedia.

Open the feature

Choose Publish in the left sidebar to open the Publish Content composer. Click the hashtag icon (Add Hashtags) in the toolbar below the text box. If you don't see it, open More tools and choose Hashtag group.

Steps

  1. Open the hashtag panel (Add Hashtags).
  2. To create a group, click Add a New Hashtag Group.
  3. Type a Hashtag Group Name and add your Hashtags, then click Add.
  4. Open the hashtag panel again and click the group. Use Search Hashtag Groups to find it if you have many.
  5. Check the hashtags in your post and each network's preview, then schedule or save as usual.

Expected result

The group's hashtags are added to your post text. You can edit or delete them in the post without changing the saved group.

Example

To tag every bakery post the same way, click Add Hashtags, then Add a New Hashtag Group. Name it "Bakery" and type #freshbread #localbakery #bakedtoday, then click Add. Next time you write a post, open Add Hashtags and click Bakery to add all three tags.

Limits and permissions

You can save up to 100 hashtag groups per account across all workspaces. Group names must be unique; a duplicate shows A hashtag group with this name already exists. The hashtag panel also has an Auto Hashtag Suggestion switch.

  • A group can hold up to 30 hashtags, and its name can be up to 30 characters.
  • Each network's character limit still applies after you add a group.
  • Instagram allows up to 30 hashtags in a post.
  • To edit or delete a group, click the pencil icon next to it. The Edit a Hashtag Group window has Update and Delete.

Troubleshooting

  • No hashtag groups yet!: you haven't created a group in this workspace. Click Add a New Hashtag Group to make one.
  • No such hashtag found in the list!: check the spelling in Search Hashtag Groups, or clear the search.
  • "Instagram doesn't allow more than 30 hashtags, remove some to proceed!": remove some hashtags from the Instagram version of the post.
  • A network says the post is too long: remove some hashtags, or turn on Customize and trim them for that network only. See Customize content for each network.

You can also ask your assistant to list saved hashtag groups in the current workspace.
