Give some accounts their own posting schedule, and change the order of posts that are already waiting in a queue.

Before you start

  • Set up your default queue first. See Add a post to a queue.
  • To create or change queues, you need permission to manage social accounts in the workspace.
  • Decide which accounts need their own times. An account follows one queue at a time.

Open the feature

Choose Publish in the left sidebar, then Queue, and click Manage Queue. You can also open Settings, then choose Workspace > Manage Queues. To reorder posts, stay on the Queue page.

Steps

Create a custom queue

  1. On the Manage Queue page, click Create custom queue.
  2. Type a Queue name.
  3. Under Social Accounts, tick the accounts that should post on this schedule. Use Search to find an account, or Select All to tick them all. An account that's already in a custom queue shows a tag with that queue's name.
  4. Click Next: Select Time-slots.
  5. Add posting times in the grid. Click + in a day's column, or use Add a new posting time for under the grid and click Add posting slot. If your plan includes generated posting slots, click Generate new posting slots to fill the grid for you. If an upgrade prompt appears, add times manually instead.
  6. Click Save queue.
  7. If any account was already in another custom queue, check the accounts listed and click Move profile or Move profiles.

Change a custom queue

  1. On the Manage Queue page, find the queue under Custom queues.
  2. To change its name or accounts, click the pencil icon (Rename or change profiles). Make your changes and click Save queue.
  3. To change its posting times, open the queue, click Edit schedule, make your changes and click Save changes.

Reorder queued posts

  1. Choose Publish in the left sidebar, then Queue. If you see List View at the top, click it.
  2. Find the post you want to move. Only posts tagged Queue can be dragged.
  3. Drag the post onto another post tagged Queue. The two posts swap times.

Expected result

Your new queue appears under Custom queues, showing how many profiles it has and how many times a week it posts. Those accounts now use its times when you choose Auto-Queue Next or Auto-Queue Last. When you reorder posts, you see Yay! Your posts have been swapped successfully. and each post shows its new time.

Example

Your LinkedIn Page should post at 9:00 AM on weekdays, while your other accounts keep the default times. Open Queue, click Manage Queue and then Create custom queue. Type "LinkedIn weekdays" as the Queue name, tick your LinkedIn Page and click Next: Select Time-slots. Set Add a new posting time for to Weekdays, pick 9:00 AM, click Add posting slot and then Save queue. Your LinkedIn Page now posts at 9:00 AM on weekdays, and your other accounts keep the default times.

Limits and permissions

  • Moving an account into a custom queue clears its posting times in its old queue. It follows the new queue from then on.
  • Each queue's Time zone is shown on its card and can't be changed there.
  • Deleting a custom queue (Delete queue) moves its accounts, and the posts queued in it, back to the default queue.
  • You can only swap posts with other queued posts. Posts you scheduled for a set time, and recycled posts, can't be swapped.
  • If you're viewing more than one account on the Queue page, you can only swap posts that belong to the same account.

Troubleshooting

  • You don't see Create custom queue: you don't have permission to manage queues. Ask a workspace admin.
  • You see "Give this queue a name.": type a Queue name before you continue.
  • You see "You already have a queue with this name.": choose a different name.
  • You see "Select at least one social account to continue.": tick at least one account.
  • You see "Add at least one posting time before saving.": add a time to the grid.
  • You see "You can only drag-drop queued posts": drop the post onto a post tagged Queue.
  • You see "You can only reorder posts within the same profile.": drop the post onto a queued post from the same account.
  • A post won't drag: only posts tagged Queue can be moved, and only in List View.
