Invite a client to connect their own social accounts to one of your workspaces, without sharing your login.

Before you start

  • Client access depends on your plan and may not be available on your account yet. If it is, you'll see Client Management in Settings.
  • You need to be the account owner or an Admin.
  • Decide which workspace the client's accounts should go into.

Open the feature

Choose Settings > Client Management > Manage Client. The Client Management page opens.

Steps

  1. Click Invite a Client.
  2. Under Step 1 - Personal Details, type the Client name and Email.
  3. Under Step 2 - Workspace Access, click the Select Workspace field and pick one workspace.
  4. Optionally, set Account limit for this client (optional) to cap how many social accounts they can add.
  5. Click Invite Client.
  6. Later, to change the workspace or limit, click Edit Client on the client's row, make your changes and click Save.

Expected result

Social Champ emails the invitation and shows We've emailed the invite to your client user. The client appears in the list with the status Pending, which changes to Accepted once they join. When they sign in, they see Client Portal in the left sidebar, where they can connect and manage their own social accounts. Accounts they connect appear in the workspace you chose.

Example

Your client, a dental clinic, doesn't want to share its Facebook password. Click Invite a Client, enter the clinic manager's name and email, select the Dental Clinic workspace and set the account limit to 2. Click Invite Client. Once the manager accepts and connects the clinic's Facebook Page and Instagram account, you can schedule posts to them from the Dental Clinic workspace.

Preview a client's portal

Once the client portal is turned on for your account, you can see exactly what a client sees before or after you send the invite.

  1. On the client's row, click Preview as this client (the eye icon).
  2. The preview opens in a new tab, in the client's workspace, with the client's own menu (Home, Calendar with Post Approval, and Analytics with Shared Reports) and their Home. Client Management stays open in the tab you came from. If your browser blocks the new tab, the preview opens in the same tab.
  3. When you're done, click Exit preview. In the new tab this closes the tab.

When creator campaigns are on, the preview menu also has Creator campaigns, with the shortlist, deliverables and reports as the client sees them. Like the rest of the preview, it is read only.

Home greets the client you're previewing by their first name, not you. The banner reads You're previewing what {client name} sees. Actions are turned off. You can't approve or reject posts in a preview, and the client's Settings pages aren't part of it. Your own workspace selection is switched to the client's workspace while the preview is open, and stays there after you exit.

Limits and permissions

  • Only the account owner, or an Admin of the client's workspace, can preview a client. Locked clients can't be previewed.
  • Clients count toward your user limit. The Users counter on Client Management shows your Team Members, Clients and Remaining Users.
  • A client can only use one workspace.
  • A client can approve, decline and comment on posts, but can't create, publish, edit, reschedule, repost, retry or bulk upload posts, or save drafts, on the accounts in their client workspace. Only you and your team publish there. If the client is also an Admin, Editor or Author in another workspace, that role applies in that workspace.
  • Only the client can reconnect accounts they connected. If one expires, click the bell icon with the Notify Client tooltip on Manage Accounts to ask them to reconnect it.
  • Deleting a client also removes the social accounts they connected.
  • To let a client see upcoming posts without an account, share a calendar link instead. See Share a calendar.

Troubleshooting

  • The client didn't get the email: click Copy Invitation Link on their row and send them the link yourself.
  • The button says Invitation sent!: you can resend the invitation after 1 hour.
  • You see "Unable to invite this user.": that email can't be invited as a client. Contact support.
  • You see "Please select a workspace.": pick a workspace under Step 2 - Workspace Access before you click Invite Client.

If the dialog says Invitation saved, but the email wasn't sent, the client is already invited, so don't invite them again. Choose Copy link, share the invitation link with them yourself, then choose Done.

Demo Workspace

Client invitations and edits in the Demo Workspace are simulated. They last until you refresh the page, and Reset demo changes restores the sample client. The only workspace you can grant is the Demo Workspace. New invitations show as pending; no invitation email is sent. Resend invitation confirms that nothing was sent, and Copy Invitation Link explains that demo invitations have no link.
