Disconnect a social account from Social Champ when you no longer manage it, or to free up an account slot on your plan.

Before you start

  • Switch to the workspace the account is in.
  • You need to be the account owner, an Admin or an Editor.
  • If you only want the account in a different workspace, don't remove it. Move it instead. See Move profiles between workspaces.

Open the feature

Choose Settings > Workspace > Social Accounts. The Manage Accounts page opens. The Social Accounts: count at the top shows how many accounts you've connected out of your plan's total.

Steps

  1. Find the account. Type its name in Search if you have a lot of accounts.
  2. Start the removal:
    • In list view, click the Remove Account icon (the bin) in the Actions column. You can also click the three-dot menu and choose Remove Account.
    • In grid view, click the account card's three-dot menu and choose Remove Account.
  3. Read the Are you sure? message. It names the account and lists what removing it will do.
  4. Click Confirm & Remove. To keep the account, click Cancel.

Expected result

A message confirms the account is removed, and it disappears from Manage Accounts. The Social Accounts: count drops by one, so you can connect another account in its place.

Example

Your agency stopped managing a client's LinkedIn Page. Choose Settings > Workspace > Social Accounts, type the Page's name in Search and click the Remove Account icon in its row. The message says it will remove any Automation Rule using this account as a condition and remove its labels from existing posts. Click Confirm & Remove. The Page is gone from the list and you have a free account slot.

Limits and permissions

  • Authors can't remove social accounts. If you see Limited Access, ask your account owner to remove it or change your access.
  • Removing an account also:
    • removes any Automation Rule that uses the account as a condition. A rule that also names other accounts keeps running on those. A Like item rule left with no account it can like is switched off instead, so you can pick its accounts again
    • removes its labels from existing posts
    • takes it out of its workspace, saved drafts, campaigns and Auto-RSS feeds
    • takes it out of Quick Select groups and shared calendars
    • removes teammates' access to it
  • A campaign or Auto-RSS feed left with no accounts stops running. A Quick Select group or shared calendar left with no accounts is deleted.
  • If some of your accounts show Account is locked because you were over your plan's limit, one of them may unlock to take the free slot.
  • To use the account again later, connect it again. See Connect a social account.
  • Every removal is recorded in the team's activity log. An owner email is sent only when activity-log email alerts are enabled; it is not guaranteed. See Review your team's activity log.

Troubleshooting

  • The three-dot menu is greyed out in grid view: the account shows Locked. Switch to list view and click the Remove Account icon in its row.
  • You see Limited Access: your role doesn't let you manage this account. Ask an Admin on your account.
  • You meant to move the account, not remove it: connect it again, then add it to the right workspace. See Move profiles between workspaces.
  • The account is expired, not unwanted: reconnect it instead. See Reconnect a social account.
