Manage ad campaigns with the assistant
On this page
Ask the built-in assistant to prepare campaigns, review performance and make supported advertising changes.
Before you start
- Use a workspace where the assistant and the required advertising actions are available. Connect the intended ad account first.
- Check the platform, ad account, campaign, budget, currency and intended dates before requesting a change that can spend money.
- Google and Meta have campaign workflows. TikTok and LinkedIn campaign flows are in beta; check each step's result and the native ad manager before relying on a launch.
Open the feature
Open the assistant with Ctrl + J (⌘ + J on Mac) in the intended workspace. For connection steps, see Connect advertising accounts.
Steps
Prepare and launch a campaign
- State the platform, campaign goal, destination, audience, dates and budget. For a Google search campaign, include the keywords and ad copy you want reviewed.
- Ask the assistant to prepare the campaign and show its resulting state. Google campaigns are created paused. For Meta, campaign and ad-set creation is followed by adding the creative and ad; a campaign alone is not ready to deliver.
- Ask to add the required creative using supported assets. Review the destination, text, image or video and targeting before launch. Do not paste credentials or private customer lists into chat.
- Review each action confirmation. If a spend card asks for typed confirmation, enter the exact number shown beside Type and in the input placeholder, then choose Approve. This confirmation number can differ from the formatted budget amount shown in the heading. Cancel declines that proposed spend.
- When the campaign is ready, explicitly ask to resume that campaign. Review the returned result and confirm its status in the platform's ad manager. An approval message means the action can proceed, not that the platform has accepted or started serving the ad.
Review performance and make changes
Name the platform, campaign and date range. Ask for a performance summary before changing the campaign. You can request a pause, a resumption or a budget adjustment for a specific campaign; review the new amount and any confirmation before proceeding.
For Google, ask for a search-term review and suggested negative keywords. Review the proposed list before agreeing to add it: those keywords can prevent your ads from appearing for matching searches.
For Meta, ask for an audience proposal, a creative-fatigue or frequency review, or a Conversions API health check. Read-only findings do not themselves replace a creative, change targeting or repair tracking. Ask for a specific follow-up and review its result.
Stop advertising and autonomous work
For one campaign, ask to pause that campaign by name. For an emergency stop across connected ad platforms, ask the assistant to pause all your ads and its autonomous activity, then read the confirmation card carefully.
Where workspace autonomy is enabled, an owner or workspace Admin's stop also pauses autonomy, returns task types to Draft only, cancels queued approvals and stops approved actions that have not run. A non-admin can request the emergency ad pause, but cannot pause workspace autonomy. Check the result for platforms that failed or were skipped.
Turning autonomy back on does not restore cancelled actions or resume paused campaigns. Review campaigns individually before resuming them. See Review proposed assistant actions.
Expected result
The assistant reports the outcome of each requested action. Confirm a new campaign, budget or status in the native ad manager. A draft, paused campaign, approval or failed platform request is not a successful live launch.
Example
Ask: "Review last week's Google search terms for Green Leaf's spring campaign and suggest negative keywords. Don't change anything yet." Review the suggestions, then approve only the keywords you want excluded.
Limits and permissions
- Available actions depend on the platform, connection, role and account access.
- Plan spending limits and monthly headroom can block a creation, launch or budget increase even after you approve it. Typing an amount does not override those limits.
- With Ads on for your account, creating, resuming, raising a budget, Spark ads and boost proposals need you to be the account owner or an Admin on that client. The kill switch pauses only campaigns Social Champ made.
- These are built-in assistant workflows. Connecting an external AI client does not grant it the same advertising actions.
- A campaign may still require platform review or additional setup before it can deliver.
Troubleshooting
- The ad account is missing: reconnect the intended account and check the selected workspace before retrying.
- Approve is disabled: enter the exact confirmation number beside Type, without a currency symbol or thousands separators. Use that prompt rather than copying the formatted budget amount from the heading.
- A spending limit blocks the action: review the proposed budget and available allowance; do not repeat the same request expecting approval to bypass the limit.
- A launch or stop partly fails: inspect each platform's result and check its ad manager. Retry only the failed action; do not recreate a campaign that already exists.
