Write a new post or improve the one you're working on with AI, then send the text to the composer.

Before you start

  • Select the accounts you're posting to first. The wizard uses their character limits when it can.
  • Each request uses one prompt. The wizard's sidebar shows how many you have left under Prompts remaining.

Open the feature

Choose Publish in the left sidebar to open the composer. Below the text box, click the AI button:

  • If the text box is empty, it says Get Suggestions (or Suggest). Click it to open AI Content Wizard.
  • If you've written something, it says Improve. Click it and choose Open AI Content Wizard, or pick a quick action: Rephrase, Shorten or Fit to limit.

You can also click the AI Tools button in the toolbar and choose AI Content Wizard.

Steps

  1. If you see Language at the top, choose the language you want replies in, or leave it on Auto.
  2. To match your brand's style, turn on the Brand voice toggle. The first time, Custom Brand Voice (Optional) opens: fill in Brand Description and Previous Successful Posts, then click Save. Each field has a See example link that fills it in. To edit these later, click the words Brand voice. See How Brand Voice works.
  3. To set a tone, click Tone at the bottom left of the message box and pick one, such as Friendly, Professional or Catchy. It applies to every message you send from then on, including Rephrase, Shorten and Expand, until you change it. Pick No tone to go back to normal.
  4. Choose one of the options shown, such as Promote a product or Share a tip, or type your request in the box (Type a prompt to generate text) and click send.
  5. Read the reply. Use the arrows to flip between versions, and check Character count: against your network's limit.
  6. To change it, click Rephrase, Shorten or Expand, or click the regenerate icon for a new version. Click Suggest Hashtags to get hashtags, tick the ones you want and click Apply Selections.
  7. When you're happy, click Send to Composer.
  8. Check the text in the composer, then schedule or publish as usual.

How Brand Voice works

Brand Voice tells the Content Wizard how to write for you. It shapes the tone and style of the text the wizard writes in the workspace you're in. It doesn't change your permissions, your social accounts or anything you've already created.

  • One voice per workspace. The dialog says Applies to and the name of the workspace you're in. Each workspace can have its own voice, and saving one changes only that workspace.
  • Brand Description: describe how you want to sound, such as your tone, the words you use and anything to avoid. Two or three sentences is enough.
  • Previous Successful Posts: paste one or two posts that sound the way you want. The wizard uses them as examples of your style and tone. Your request sets the topic.
  • On or off: the dialog says Brand voice is on or Brand voice is off. Clicking Save turns it on.
  • What changes: the dialog shows a fixed before-and-after example of the same post written in the default style and with a sample voice. It's an illustration: nothing is generated and it doesn't use a prompt.

If the dialog says This voice is not set for your workspace, the voice you see comes from your older account-wide settings. Every workspace that doesn't have a voice of its own shares it. To make it this workspace's own, click Copy this voice to the workspace, or change it and click Save. Copying keeps Brand voice on or off as the dialog shows it, and it doesn't change your other workspaces. Turning Brand voice on or off also makes the voice this workspace's own.

See example fills its field with a sample. If you've already typed something, you're asked before it's replaced.

Clear All removes the voice from the workspace you're in only.

Use an image and choose an AI connection

Where the wizard offers an image input, add the image and ask for a relevant post. Check that the generated text accurately describes it before using it. Rate the response with the feedback controls if needed.

Use Connect GPT Pro or Switch to Social Champ AI where offered to choose the applicable AI connection. Review the connected account and usage terms; changing the connection does not guarantee a particular model or response quality.

Expected result

The wizard closes and the text appears in the composer. When it replaces text you'd already written, you'll see Content pasted in composer successfully! with an Undo button. Nothing is posted until you schedule or publish it.

Example

You need a Friday post for your bakery's Facebook Page. Open Publish, select the Page and click Get Suggestions. Choose Write about a custom topic and finish the sentence in the box: "Write a post about our new sourdough loaf, available this Friday only, friendly tone". Send it, then click Shorten on the reply, then Send to Composer. Under When to post, choose Schedule, pick Friday at 8:00 AM and click Schedule.

Limits and permissions

  • AI Suggested Time uses the account’s AI Wizard text allowance, one credit per requested platform. Regenerating one platform uses one credit. Connecting your own GPT key does not bypass this time-suggestion allowance.

  • How many prompts you get depends on your plan. When they run out, you can connect your own OpenAI key with Connect GPT Pro. While GPT Pro is connected, the sidebar shows GPT Pro connected and Wizard chat requests don't use your prompts.

  • Once Brand voice is on and a chat has started, you can't change it in that chat. Click New chat to change it.

  • Once you've saved a brand voice in a workspace, Brand voice stays on there until you turn it off. If you have more than one workspace and your brand voice was saved before each workspace had its own, it starts off: turn it on once in each workspace you want it in.

  • Language may not be available on your account yet.

  • You can change Tone at any point in a chat. Each message you send shows the tone it used, and a line in the chat marks where you changed it. With Brand voice on, your brand voice comes first: if it says to stay formal or never use jokes, a tone like Funny only nudges the wording. Your tone stays selected when you click New chat. Chats reopened from history don't show the tones their messages used.

  • AI-generated content may be inaccurate. Check facts, prices and dates before you post.

  • The wizard is separate from the assistant chat. See Start a conversation with the assistant.

Each request to the AI, including a regenerate or a Retry, uses one prompt. Sending a suggestion you already have to Composer uses none, so Send to Composer keeps working after your prompts run out. Applying selected hashtags asks the AI to rewrite the post, so it uses a prompt. With no prompts left, it opens the upgrade dialog instead.

Regenerating a reply sends the request again with the image you attached to it and, when the wizard was opened from Composer, the character limit Composer gave the wizard when it opened. With several networks selected, that is the lowest of their limits. In a chat reopened from history, regenerating sends neither the attached image nor the Composer character limit.

Troubleshooting

  • The composer text didn't change: you need to click Send to Composer. Generating a reply on its own doesn't change your post.
  • You replaced your text by mistake: click Undo on the message that appears.
  • You see "We hit a snag!": click Retry. If it keeps happening, contact support through live chat.
  • The text box is greyed out with a prompt limit message: you've used all your prompts. On a plan with a monthly allowance they renew on their own when the period ends. Some lifetime and older plans include a one-time allowance that doesn't renew. To keep going now, click Connect GPT Pro.
  • The post is too long for a network: click Improve > Fit to limit in the composer.
