See how many assistant chats you have left, when they reset, and what the assistant has done in your workspace.

Before you start

  • The assistant may not be available on your account yet.
  • Your chat allowance is shared across your account. The action log is per workspace, so switch to the workspace you want to check.

Open the feature

Press Ctrl + J (⌘ + J on Mac) to open the assistant panel. Your chat usage is at the bottom. For the full breakdown, go to Settings > Developer > AI Usage. The action log is on the Action log tab of the assistant's control center.

Steps

  1. Read the usage line at the bottom of the assistant panel. It shows one of these:
    • N of M chats left: how many chats you have left.
    • Unlimited: your plan has no chat limit.
    • On your own key — unlimited: the assistant is running on an AI key added for the workspace you're in, or on an account-wide key.
    • No chats on this plan: your plan doesn't include assistant chats.
  2. On the full-page chat, check the bottom left for the same line, a progress bar and the reset date (Resets date).
  3. For more detail, open Settings > Developer > AI Usage. Under Your monthly AI allowance you'll see separate meters for assistant turns, AI Wizard — text generation and AI Wizard — image generation, each with its reset date.
  4. If the autonomy service is enabled, open the assistant's Brand profile panel, choose Approvals & autonomy, then choose the Action log tab.
  5. Narrow the log with Task, Status, Level or Approver. Click Clear to remove filters, Refresh to reload and Load more to see older entries.
  6. Read each entry: its task, status (such as queued, approved, executed or failed), autonomy level, network, time and a plain-language description of the action. Entries can also show Approver: (the approver's name when known), Capped by: and Target:. A task entry shows Data read: (what the assistant looked at before acting) only when it recorded something, and AI disclosure: applied only when a disclosure was applied.

Expected result

You can see how many chats you have left and when they reset. The action log lists, newest first, the actions the assistant prepares, queues or runs under its autonomy task types (Inbox FAQ replies, Weekly plan slots, Onboarding calendar and Boost proposals), including posts scheduled and ad changes made in chat, plus changes to the autonomy switch. It's read-only.

Example

You want to know if the assistant replied to an inbox question overnight. Open the Action log tab, set Task to Inbox FAQ replies and Status to executed. The reply shows with its time. If it says failed, the entry shows the reason after Failed —.

Limits and permissions

  • How many chats you get, and when they reset, depends on your plan.
  • One turn is one prompt and the assistant's full reply.
  • Assistant chats and the AI Content Wizard use separate counters.
  • With an AI key connected for the workspace you're in, assistant chats there don't count against your allowance. Keys belong to a workspace, so the usage line can change when you switch workspace.
  • You can also ask the assistant about your chat limit. It confirms there is a monthly limit, points you to this usage line and AI Usage, and names the two ways past it: your own AI key or a bigger plan. It can't reset or raise the limit from chat.
  • On the AI Usage page you can also rename the assistant under What should we call the assistant?. The name applies across your account.

Troubleshooting

  • The usage line is missing: reload the page and open the assistant again.
  • You've run out of chats: wait for the reset date, upgrade your plan with Upgrade your plan → on the AI Usage page, or connect your own AI key. Only the account owner and the workspace's admins can add a key.
  • An action is missing from the log: check you're in the right workspace and click Clear to remove filters. A plain chat reply isn't an action and won't appear. Other chat actions, such as editing or deleting posts, calendar notes, labels or listening alerts, aren't recorded in the log either. If you do not see Approvals & autonomy in the Brand profile panel, the autonomy service may be unavailable.
  • The log shows "executed" but you can't see the post: check Calendar and the network itself before asking the assistant to try again.
