Change a Social Champ subscription
On this page
Switch to another plan, change your billing period, or add extra social accounts and team members.
Before you start
- You need to be the account owner, or an admin the owner has given billing access.
- Check your current plan and usage on Settings > Billing > Summary.
- Have a payment card ready. You can add one under Payment method while you change your plan.
Open the feature
Open Settings, then choose Billing > Change Plan. If you're on a free trial or the free plan, this item is called Upgrade Plan. The Billing Settings page opens.
Steps
- Under Select plan, click the plan you want.
- To add extra capacity, open Add-ons and set the quantity for Social Accounts or Team Members. Available add-ons depend on your plan.
- In Order Summary, choose Bill Monthly or Bill Yearly if those options appear.
- If you have a coupon, type it in Coupon code.
- Check the total, then tick I agree to the Social Champ's Terms and Conditions.
- Click the payment button at the bottom of Order Summary. Its label shows the amount, for example Pay $… with card now. On a trial it reads Skip trial, pay $… now. To move to the free plan, it reads Switch to Free plan.
Downgrade or switch to a different plan type
- Compare your current usage with the target plan before submitting. Review social accounts, teammates, Recycle collections and campaigns, Auto-RSS feeds, suggestions and purchased add-ons.
- Select the target plan and review Order Summary. A lower tier within the same plan type opens Confirm Downgrade. Switching between plan types, such as bundled and per-profile pricing, opens Change Plan.
- Read the current and target plan comparison and the warning: changes take effect immediately on confirmation, and access to disabled features is lost immediately. A lower allowance can disable profiles or teammates and put posts on disabled profiles on hold. Reducing Recycle, feed or suggestion allowances can also remove resources above the new allowance. Do not assume a later upgrade will restore deleted items.
- Choose Keep followed by your current plan name to back out, or Continue followed by the target plan name to proceed. Moving to the free plan can open additional cancellation questions; complete and review that flow before treating the change as finished.
- If you are reducing X Suite slots, review the profile-removal selection. See Reduce X Suite slots. If you are reducing storage, review Change Media Library storage capacity first.
- Complete any remaining checkout steps, then check Summary, the affected profiles and your scheduled posts.
If you are unsure which resources will remain within the new limits, choose Keep and contact support before confirming. Add-ons included in one plan may be unavailable or separately priced in another.
Expected result
Once the subscription change completes, Summary shows your new plan under Your Current Plan, along with the next billing date where applicable. Selecting a plan or opening a confirmation does not establish that the change completed.
Example
You're on a monthly plan and want to save with yearly billing. Open Settings > Billing > Change Plan. Keep your current plan selected and choose Bill Yearly in Order Summary. Check the total, tick I agree to the Social Champ's Terms and Conditions and click the Pay button. Summary then shows your yearly plan and next billing date.
Limits and permissions
Per-profile plan checkout uses Order summary, a Monthly/Yearly switch, and Pay $X now, Update subscription or Subscribe to Free Plan. A Free-plan change does not require a card. A failed price preview also disables checkout; resolve that error before continuing.
- Plans, prices, add-ons and coupons depend on your account. The page shows the options available to you.
- When you upgrade mid-cycle, you're charged a prorated amount for the new plan or add-ons for the rest of the billing cycle.
- Your subscription renews automatically each month or year, depending on your billing period.
- The payment button stays greyed out until you've changed something, ticked the terms box and added a card.
- To cancel, open Summary and click Cancel subscription.
- If you're on a legacy plan, changing plans moves you to current pricing.
Troubleshooting
- You see "Limited Access": only the account owner, or an admin given billing access, can open billing. Ask the owner to turn on Allow access to Billing Settings for you.
- The payment button is greyed out: tick the terms box, add a card under Payment method, and check that you've picked a different plan or quantity.
- You see "Your payment is processing": wait for it to finish. Don't click the button again.
- Your bank asks you to confirm the payment: follow its prompt, then check Summary before trying again.
Choose resources after a downgrade
If your new allowance is lower than your connected accounts or team members, the account owner sees Choose what stays active in Publisher. Select the number shown for each visible list, then click Save selection. Accounts or team members already within the new allowance remain selected automatically. The button is disabled until the choices are complete and while saving. If saving fails, your choices remain available to retry. If the selection window has already ended, the dialog closes and Publisher reloads with the accounts and team members that were kept active.
The social accounts you keep stay active when your plan renews. Publisher asks you to choose again only if more accounts are active than your allowance, or if your allowance has room you haven't filled.
Choose a plan when your trial ends
When your free trial ends, the account owner sees Trial completed in Publisher with every plan side by side. The window can't be dismissed until you pick a plan. Team members see a message asking them to wait for the owner instead.
- Choose Bundled pricing or Pay per profile. The tab starts on your trial plan's pricing type. Choose Monthly or Yearly; yearly is selected first.
- On Pay per profile, set how many social accounts you need to see an estimated price. It can't go below the number you have connected. This number isn't carried over to checkout.
- Each plan shows whether it fits what you used during the trial. A green label means it fits everything. Otherwise the label shows how many of your accounts and users it covers.
- Pick a plan. Your trial plan's button reads Keep followed by the plan name, other paid plans read Choose, and the free plan reads Continue Free.
Paid plans
Clicking Keep or Choose on a paid plan opens checkout with that plan and billing period selected. Nothing in your account changes until you pay. On Pay per profile you choose the number of accounts again at checkout, and checkout shows the final price. If the new plan includes fewer social accounts or users than you have, the usual downgrade rules in this guide apply after payment.
Free plan
Only the free plan asks you to choose what to keep before anything changes:
- If you have more social accounts than the free plan includes, pick which accounts to keep. Accounts on networks the free plan doesn't support can't be picked.
- If you have more team members than the free plan allows, tick the ones to remove.
- The button stays disabled until your choices fit the free plan.
- Review What stays active and click Let's start.
Publisher applies your choices straight away and reloads. Accounts you didn't keep stay connected but paused, and removed team members lose access until you upgrade and invite them again.
If the plans can't load, click Try again. If they still don't load, click See basic plan options to keep your trial plan or move to the free plan from a simpler window.
