Reschedule a post from Calendar
On this page
Change the date and time of a scheduled post without creating it again.
Before you start
- Check you're in the right workspace. Calendar shows times in the workspace's timezone.
- You can only reschedule posts that haven't published yet. To send a published or failed post again, see Limits and permissions.
Open the feature
Choose Calendar in the left sidebar. In Month or Week view, use the arrows next to the date to find the post.
Steps
- Click the post. The Post panel opens on the right.
- Click the pencil icon (Edit). The composer opens with your post.
- Click the date button next to When to post.
- Pick the new date, set the time and click OK.
- Click Save.
Expected result
The post moves to its new date and time in Calendar. Its text, media and accounts stay the same.
Example
Your product launch moved from Tuesday to Thursday. Open Calendar, click Tuesday's 10:00 AM post and click Edit. Click the date button, pick Thursday, keep 10:00 AM and click OK. Click Save. The post now sits on Thursday.
Limits and permissions
- To change only the date and keep the same time, you can drag the post to another day instead. See Move a post to another date on Calendar.
- Pick a time in the future. If the time has passed, OK stays greyed out and shows That time is in the past. Please pick a later time.
- Each post you schedule to several accounts appears once per account. Reschedule each one you want to move.
- A failed post shows Reschedule instead of Edit. It opens the composer so you can fix the post and schedule it again. See Resolve a failed or incomplete post.
- A published post shows Repost instead, so you can post it again.
- On a shared calendar, you can only edit posts if the link gives you edit rights.
- If Edit is greyed out, its tooltip names who can change the post, for example Only Sara (who created this post) or an Admin can edit it. Ask that person or an Admin.
Troubleshooting
- There's no Edit icon on the post: the post has already published or failed. Use the buttons shown on the post instead.
- The Edit icon is greyed out: your team role doesn't allow editing this post. Ask a workspace admin.
- The post shows at an unexpected time: check the workspace timezone in your workspace settings.
- You can't find the post: clear your Filters, check the date range, and make sure you're in the right workspace.
