Calendar can show posts your connected accounts published without Social Champ, for example straight from the Instagram app or from another tool. They're marked External and you can view them, but you can't edit them here.

Before you start

  • Check you're in the right workspace and the accounts are selected in the social account selector.
  • X (Twitter) and Facebook groups don't share these posts, so they never appear for those accounts.

Open the feature

Choose Calendar in the left sidebar and pick Month or Week view.

Steps

  1. Move to the dates you want to check.
  2. Click a post to open it. A post published outside Social Champ has the External badge at the top right of the Post panel, which shows the caption, the media when the network shares it, the published time and its metrics.
  3. To open the post on the network, click View on and the network's icon.
  4. To see only these posts, click Filters, choose External Posts under Post Status and click Apply. To hide them, choose any statuses except All and External Posts.

Expected result

External posts show on the day they were published on the network. A post you published through Social Champ shows once, as your own post, even though the network also reports it.

External posts are refreshed once a day.

On networks where it's turned on, opening Calendar also asks each selected account for its latest posts, so a post you just published in the network's app appears the next time Calendar loads, usually within a few minutes. Each account is refreshed this way at most every 30 minutes. We're turning this on one network at a time.

Example

Your team posted a Reel straight from the Instagram app on Tuesday. Open Calendar, select the Instagram account and switch to Week. The Reel shows on Tuesday. Click it: the Post panel has the External badge. Click View on and the Instagram icon to open it on Instagram.

Limits and permissions

  • External posts show when Post Status is All or includes External Posts, and Post Type is All Posts. Sent shows only posts Social Champ published.
  • You can't edit, reschedule or drag an external post. Where the network allows it, Delete post in the post's menu deletes it from the network.
  • Instagram Stories published outside Social Champ aren't shown.
  • A post deleted on the network can stay on Calendar for a while after it's gone.
  • Some networks only share their most recent posts. On YouTube and Pinterest, older posts might be missing.
  • Shared calendar links don't refresh external posts, and they don't show the refresh status.

Troubleshooting

  • An external post is missing: check in Filters that Post Status is All or includes External Posts, and Post Type is All Posts. Then reload Calendar after a few minutes. If that network doesn't refresh when Calendar opens yet, the post appears after the daily refresh.
  • A banner says posts can't be refreshed: the account needs reconnecting. Click Review. With one account affected, it opens the reconnect step directly; with several, it opens Manage social accounts, where you reconnect each one.
