Move a post to another date on Calendar
On this page
Drag a post to a new day in Calendar. It keeps the same time of day.
Before you start
- Check you're in the right workspace. Calendar uses the workspace's timezone.
- Dragging changes the date only. To change the time as well, see Reschedule a post from Calendar.
Open the feature
Choose Calendar in the left sidebar and switch to Month or Week view.
Steps
- Use the arrows next to the date to show the post and the day you want to move it to.
- Drag the post onto the new day and let go.
- Check the message that appears to see that the move worked.
Expected result
You see The post has been moved to followed by the new date, and the post appears on that day at its original time. Drafts show The draft has been moved to and the new date.
Example
Your Monday 9:00 AM tip should go out on Wednesday instead. Open Calendar in Month view and drag the post from Monday 11 May to Wednesday 13 May. You see The post has been moved to Wednesday, May 13th 2026, and the post now sits on Wednesday at 9:00 AM.
Limits and permissions
- The new date, at the post's original time, must still be in the future. Otherwise you see Posts can only be moved to a future date and time. and the post goes back.
- If you drag a post that Social Champ already published, it isn't moved. It's posted again on the new day at the same time, and you see The post will be reposted on followed by the date.
- Posts published directly on the network can't be moved. You see This post was published outside Social Champ, so it can't be moved. Create a new post to share it again.
- You can also drag drafts and notes. Each day holds up to 3 notes.
- Holidays can't be dragged.
- On a shared calendar, you can only drag posts if the link gives you edit rights. Drafts can't be dragged there.
- Posts scheduled to several accounts appear once per account. Drag each one you want to move.
Troubleshooting
- The post jumped back to its old day: read the error message. If it starts with You can't move this post., it names who can reschedule it: the person who created the post or an Admin. Ask one of them to move it.
- The message says the post was published or deleted after Calendar loaded: refresh Calendar and check the post before trying again.
- You see "Couldn't move the post. Please try again.": refresh Calendar, check where the post is now, then try once more.
- The post disappeared after you moved it: your Filters or date range may hide the new day. Clear the filters and move to the new date.
