Review label analytics
On this page
See how your labeled posts and conversations perform, so you can compare campaigns, themes or topics.
Before you start
- Add labels to your posts when you create them. Label Analytics only shows labels that are on published posts.
- For conversation labels, label your conversations in Engage first. See Create and apply conversation labels.
Open the feature
Choose Analytics in the left sidebar, then one of these:
- Label Analytics for post labels.
- Engage Analytics > Engage Labels for conversation labels.
Steps
- Open the label picker at the top of the page and choose your labels. In Engage Labels you can choose up to 10.
- Open the date picker and choose a range, such as Last 7 Days or Last 30 Days.
- To narrow the results, click Filters. Under Platform, choose one network or leave the combined view on, then click Apply. The combined view is Aggregated Data (Except for X) in Label Analytics and Aggregated Data in Engage Labels.
- In Label Analytics, choose how to show the labels next to the picker. Combined adds them together. Compare shows 2 to 5 labels side by side, each in its own colour: Top performing labels shows bars per label, Label performance lists each label in its own row, and Total impressions and Total engagement chart each label separately. A label keeps its colour when you switch between Combined and Compare, reload the page, or deselect and reselect it.
- In Label Analytics, review the Label highlights, Top performing labels, Label performance, Total impressions and Total engagement. To hide a section or a table column, click Customize in the Label highlights header, change the ticks and click Done.
- Scroll to Labeled post performance to see the posts behind the numbers.
- In Engage Labels, review the highlights (Total Conversations, Labeled Conversations, Unlabeled Conversations and Most Used Label) and Top performing labels.
- To share the results, click Export. In Label Analytics, choose PDF - Global Data; in Engage Labels, choose PDF report. Both also offer PowerPoint (PPT). Then click Select metrics. In Label Analytics, the Total impressions and Total engagement highlight cards in the report follow the metrics you pick. Scheduled Report and Shared Analytics also ask you to choose Combined or Compare under Show labels as. See Create an analytics report.
- To keep the setup, select Save this view next to the page title. In Engage Labels, a view saves the labels, the platform and accounts filter and the dates. See Save and manage analytics views.
- From Analytics > Saved views, the actions menu on a Label Analytics view opens the page with that view's labels, then opens the window you picked: Schedule report opens Personalize your report, Publish as Shared Analytics opens Shared Analytics and Export opens the PDF export. If sample data is on or there are no labels, a message says why instead.
Expected result
The cards, charts and tables update for the labels, dates and platforms you chose. The filter button shows how many filters are applied.
Example
To compare two campaigns from last month, open Label Analytics and choose the labels Summer Sale and Back to School in the label picker. Choose Last 30 Days in the date picker. Compare their impressions and engagement in Label performance, then check Labeled post performance for the best post.
Limits and permissions
- Compare shows 2 to 5 labels. Combined has no label limit. Engage Labels takes up to 10 labels.
- A post can carry more than one label, so totals across labels may overlap. In Compare, a post with two selected labels appears in both rows.
- Label Analytics doesn't include X posts.
- Posts deleted from the network are left out of Labeled post performance, the same as the No. of posts column.
- A deleted label still reports on its posts and is marked Archived: in the label picker, the tables, the Top label card, the bars and the chart legends, where it reads Label name (Archived). Shared links, exports and scheduled reports mark it the same way.
- In Engage Labels, LINE appears under Platform. See Connect a LINE Official Account.
- Post labels and conversation labels are separate. Label Analytics never shows Engage labels, and Engage Labels never shows post labels.
- Your team role must allow managing Engage to open these pages. If they don't open, ask your admin.
- Sentiment charts in Engage Labels (Sentiment trend, Sentiment breakdown and Sentiment by label) depend on your plan.
- To try the page with sample data, turn on Demo View in the page menu. You can't change labels or filters while it's on.
Troubleshooting
- You see "Get easy custom insights with Labels": none of your posts have labels yet. Click Create a post and add a label.
- You see "Measure what your audience is saying": you have no Engage labels yet. Click Add Label in Engage to create one.
- The date picker is greyed out: choose at least one label first.
- A label shows no numbers: no published posts with that label fall in the date range. Widen the range.
- You can't pick another label: in Compare you've reached 5 (in Engage Labels, 10). Remove one, or switch to Combined.
- Compare is greyed out: select at least 2 labels, or deselect labels until 5 or fewer are selected. If you deselect labels in Compare until only one is left, the page switches to Combined.
- A saved view or link shows Combined instead of Compare: a label in it was deleted. The page names how many labels were removed.
Keep post labels and Engage labels separate
Label Analytics groups publishing performance by post label; Engage Label Analytics groups conversations and available sentiment by Engage label. Pick the appropriate screen before choosing labels, profiles/platforms and dates. A matching label name does not make these datasets interchangeable.
Review the applied-filter count, then clear unwanted filters to return to a broader report. In Labels Post Performance, use the label selector (including Select all) and the available performance ordering to inspect posts behind the totals. An empty label list differs from an existing label with no posts in the date range. Engage sentiment sections appear only when the account supports them. Export from the current screen after reviewing its scope.
Expand label detail
Expand a performance-table row to inspect its platform breakdown, then collapse it to return to the summary. Totals and per-day figures are different measures. Use the chart-specific download on total engagement, impressions, top labels or sentiment charts where available. In Label Analytics, hover the download icon to see Download this widget. Apply a filter with its confirmation control; closing a filter panel is not the same as applying a changed selection.
