Read advocacy insights
On this page
See how your advocacy programme is doing: who is active, how many clicks and engagements your advocates drove, and which campaigns worked best.
Before you start
- Check you're in the right workspace. Advocacy results are shown for one workspace at a time.
- Results appear once advocates start sharing or engaging with your campaigns.
Open the feature
Choose Advocacy in the left sidebar, then choose Overview.
Steps
- Read At a glance to see whether your programme is active: Accepted Advocates, Active Advocates, Live Campaigns and Completed Actions.
- Read Performance for the impact: Audience Engagement, Tracked Link Clicks, Est. Earned Media Value and Measured Reach.
- Check Top campaigns for your five strongest campaigns by completed actions. Click View all campaigns to see the full list.
- On Campaigns, click any campaign row. Campaign Insights opens with its engagement, tracked shares and tracked link clicks.
- Read the completion summary under those figures: Assigned advocates, Advocates completed, Advocates pending, Actions required and Actions completed, with a bar split into Completed, Partially completed and Pending.
- Check Assigned advocates for every advocate the campaign is assigned to, including people who haven't acted yet. Each row shows a status, the campaign's actions (hover an icon to see whether it's done), completed and pending counts, platform, verification, points and engagement. Type in Search advocates to find someone by name or email. Long lists show 25 advocates per page. Click View post to open their post, and Done to close the panel.
- Choose Leaderboard in the sidebar to see your advocacy leaderboards, ranked by points. Search and the workspace filter appear when you have more than one board.
- To download your results, click Export Report at the top right of Overview or Campaigns. You get a CSV file.
Expected result
You can see how many advocates took part, what they achieved, and which campaigns and people did the most.
Example
Your "Spring launch" campaign ended last week. Open Advocacy > Overview and find it under Top campaigns to compare its Completed actions and Tracked clicks with your other campaigns. Then choose Campaigns, click the "Spring launch" row, and check Assigned advocates: thank the people marked Completed, and nudge the ones still Pending or Partially completed.
Limits and permissions
- Advocacy may not be available on your account yet, and it depends on your plan.
- Est. Earned Media Value is an estimate based on tracked clicks and measured engagement. It isn't a payout from the social network.
- Some networks don't share every number. No measured data available yet. means the figure couldn't be measured, not that it's zero.
- Tracked Link Clicks only counts clicks on links tracked through Social Champ.
Troubleshooting
-
"No advocates assigned yet": the campaign has nobody to track. Assign advocates to it to see their progress here.
-
"We couldn't load this campaign's advocates.": click Try again.
-
"Choose a workspace to see its advocacy performance.": pick one workspace in the workspace menu at the top.
-
"We couldn't load advocacy performance. Please try again.": click Try again.
-
"No report data to export yet.": there's nothing to export until advocates complete campaign actions.
-
"No performance data yet.": your advocates haven't shared or engaged with a campaign yet. Check your campaigns are live and assigned to them.
Understand each level of reporting
Overview describes one workspace programme; select one workspace if the screen asks you to. Accepted advocates, active advocates and invited advocates describe different participation states. Completed actions can include more than one action from a single campaign. Top campaigns also show available remaining points and estimated value; they are not a payout ledger.
The campaign activity table drills into who did what, on which platform, with what verification and points. Open View post only when a link is available. Tracked clicks, measured engagement and measured reach have different data sources; do not substitute one for another when a field is unavailable.
A workspace Leaderboard and your personal advocacy leaderboard can show different people because they have different scopes. With multiple boards, search/filter, expand the relevant board and check its brand/workspace name before reading your rank. The old Reports destination redirects to Overview; it is not a separate current reporting product.
Read campaign completion
An advocate is Completed once they've done every action the campaign asks for, Partially completed when they've done some of the actions in an engage campaign, and Pending when they haven't done any yet. A share counts as soon as the advocate shares the campaign, the same way their own feed marks it done. Verification then shows whether that post was published, is still scheduled, or failed. An engage action counts once the advocate marks it done; Verification shows whether Social Champ could confirm it. Advocates pending counts everyone who hasn't finished, including partially completed advocates.
Completion covers the whole life of the campaign, so it doesn't change with the reporting period you pick on Overview. Advocates you've removed from your programme aren't listed, and neither is an advocate who created the campaign themselves, for example by asking for engagement on their own post.
Expand leaderboard rows
Expand the relevant brand board to see its ranking, then use the show-all-rows control when more advocates are available. Collapse the board to reduce the list. Changing a workspace filter or expanded view does not change earned points. Use View all campaigns from Overview to inspect the campaigns behind the summary.
