Give your advocates a ready-made post to share (a Share campaign), or ask them to react to, comment on or repost one of your posts (an Engage campaign).

Before you start

  • Invite at least one advocate and wait for them to accept. See Invite advocates.
  • For an Engage campaign, copy the link to the post you want advocates to engage with.

Open the feature

Choose Advocacy in the left sidebar, then choose Campaigns. Click Create Campaign at the top right. The Create campaign window opens.

Steps

  1. Under Choose the type of campaign you want, choose Share or Engage.
  2. Type a Campaign name.
  3. Under Who should see this campaign?, choose one of these options:
    • All accepted advocates: everyone accepted while the campaign is live sees it.
    • Select advocates: tick the people you want in the list below.
    • Select by advocate group: tick a group, then adjust the people it adds.
  4. For a Share campaign:
    • Type the Post content (at least 10 characters).
    • Add an image or video with Upload media if you want.
    • To give advocates different wording, click Add a variation, or click Generate 3 variations with AI.
    • The campaign supports up to five variations. If there is no room for another, remove an existing variation before adding one.
    • Set Points for sharing post.
    • Add a link under Share a link if you want.
    • Tick Lock content if advocates must share the caption exactly as written.
  5. For an Engage campaign:
    • Paste the post's URL in Post link to engage with.
    • Under Actions to perform, tick Repost, Comment or React, and set the points (pts) for each one.
    • Add a note, a Post preview or a Suggested comment if you want. Click Fetch post details to fill in the preview automatically.
  6. Pick an Expiration date if the campaign should end on a set day.
  7. Click Create campaign.

Filter and publish campaigns

Use the campaign type and status filters to narrow the list. Review a campaign before changing its Publish switch. Unpublishing changes its availability in the advocacy programme; it does not remove posts advocates already shared to social networks.

See where a campaign went

The Platform/Profiles column shows where each campaign can be shared or engaged with. Hover the column name to see that description.

  • Share campaign: the advocates whose share has been published, newest first. A share that is still scheduled or that failed to publish does not appear. Each advocate's photo carries the icon of the network they shared to; an advocate who shared to two networks appears once for each. Hover a photo to see the advocate's name and network. Up to four photos show; a number in brackets, such as (2), counts the rest, and hovering it lists them.
  • If an advocate who shared the campaign no longer has an account, only the network icon shows.
  • Engage campaign: the network of the post advocates engage with.
  • -- means there is nothing to show yet: no share of the Share campaign has been published, or the Engage post's link is not on a network Social Champ recognises.

The column shows advocates, not their personal social accounts: advocates share from their own accounts, and those stay private to them. A Share campaign is not tied to a network when you create it, because each advocate chooses where to share. The column fills in as they share.

Expected result

If you click Create campaign, you see Campaign created, and the campaign appears in the Campaigns list with the status Active. Advocates you chose see it in their To do list, ready to share or engage with. If you tick Save as draft and click Save to draft, the campaign is saved with the status Paused and does not appear in advocates' To do list.

Example

To ask your sales team to share a product launch, choose Share and name the campaign "Spring launch". Under Who should see this campaign?, choose Select by advocate group and tick the "Sales" group. Type the launch post in Post content, click Upload media and add the launch photo (advocates sharing to Instagram need an image). Set Points for sharing post to 50, pick an Expiration date two weeks away, and click Create campaign.

Limits and permissions

  • Advocacy may not be available on your account yet, and it depends on your plan. How many campaigns can be live at once also depends on your plan.
  • Points must be at least 1. Each campaign starts at 50 points.
  • You can add up to 5 caption variations. Each advocate chooses a variation from the Variation 1, Variation 2 and subsequent tabs in the composer.
  • To change a campaign, choose Edit Campaign. If it already has an expiration date in the past, leave that date unchanged when saving other edits; choose a future date if you want to extend the campaign.
  • To change whether an existing campaign is active, use its toggle in the Campaigns list. To keep a campaign out of advocates' To do list while editing, select Save as draft and click Save to draft. Review Lock content when editing to preserve the intended sharing behavior.
  • To pause or activate a campaign, use its toggle in the Campaigns list. A paused campaign is not shown in advocates' To do list. An expired campaign can't be activated from the toggle; edit it, choose a future Expiration date, and publish it again.
  • Advocates share using Post Now only. They can't schedule an advocacy post for later.
  • An advocate who completes more than one Engage action earns points for each one.
  • To save the campaign without publishing it, tick Save as draft at the bottom left. The button changes to Save to draft.
  • To change or remove a campaign, use Edit Campaign or Delete Campaign on its row in Campaigns.

Troubleshooting

  • "Give the campaign a name before creating it.": type a Campaign name.
  • "Pick at least one action for the engage campaign.": tick at least one of Repost, Comment or React.
  • "Pick at least one advocate, or choose All accepted advocates.": tick someone in the list, or switch to All accepted advocates.
  • "Invite and accept advocates before targeting a campaign.": no advocates have accepted yet. Invite them first, or wait for them to accept.
  • "Pick an expiration date in the future.": choose a later Expiration date.
  • A campaign shows as Expired: open it with Edit Campaign, pick a new Expiration date, untick Save as draft and click Update.

Inspect an existing campaign

Use the type and status filters in Campaigns, then open a row for insights and recorded advocate activity. Review advocate, platform, activity, shared content, post link, verification, points, tracked clicks and available audience engagement. A missing measured value is not necessarily zero; a missing source link may be unavailable even though the activity record exists.

Before editing, confirm whether you are changing a Share or Engage campaign. Share content, variations and lock settings control what advocates can reuse. Engage actions and their individual points control which actions are requested. Fetch post details fills a preview for review; it is not proof that an advocate engaged with the post. A preview image or suggested comment does not itself publish anything.

Use the Publish toggle to change availability, Edit Campaign to change its configuration, and Delete Campaign only after reading the confirmation. None of these controls should be treated as removing posts already published on advocates' networks. An expired campaign needs a suitable future expiration date before reactivation.

Refine content before saving

Use the upload control or supported drag-and-drop area to add media, and remove the attachment if it is wrong. Review generated caption candidates before choosing Use as variation; remove unwanted variations individually. If generation fails, Try again retries generation, not campaign publication.

For Engage campaigns, changing the source URL clears the old preview. Fetch the new post details and review its author, image and suggested comment; use Remove to clear unwanted preview details. Close or Cancel to leave without submitting the campaign. Keyboard Enter/Space can operate the audience and action choices when those controls have focus.
