Manage advocacy rewards
On this page
Add rewards that advocates can redeem with the points they earn, then mark each request as fulfilled once you've delivered it.
Before you start
- Decide what each reward is and how many points it costs.
- You deliver rewards yourself, for example by posting a hoodie or emailing a gift card. Social Champ tracks the requests.
Open the feature
Choose Advocacy in the left sidebar, then choose Rewards. The Advocate Rewards page opens.
Steps
To add a reward:
- Click Add a reward.
- Type a Title, for example "Company hoodie".
- Type the Points cost.
- Add a Description if you want, such as what the advocate gets and how it arrives.
- Click Add reward.
To handle a request:
- Click Redemption requests. A number on the button shows how many are pending.
- Find the request. Use Search rewards or the All status filter to narrow the list.
- Once you've delivered the reward, click Mark fulfilled, then click Fulfill.
- To turn a request down, click Deny, then click Cancel & refund.
- Click Done to close the list.
Expected result
- A new reward shows Reward added. and appears in the list with the status Active. Advocates can redeem it straight away.
- A fulfilled request shows Request fulfilled. A denied request shows Request denied, and the points go back to the advocate.
Example
To offer a hoodie for 500 points, click Add a reward, type "Company hoodie" as the Title, type 500 in Points cost and click Add reward. When an advocate redeems it, click Redemption requests, post the hoodie, then click Mark fulfilled and Fulfill on their request.
Limits and permissions
A reward’s points cost must be between 1 and 1,000,000.
- Advocacy may not be available on your account yet, and it depends on your plan.
- Points cost must be a whole number of at least 1.
- To stop offering a reward for now, use the switch on its row (Pause reward). Its status changes to Paused. Switch it back on to make it Active again.
- To change a reward, click Edit reward on its row, make your changes and click Save changes.
- You can't delete a reward that has pending requests. Fulfil or deny them first.
Troubleshooting
- "This reward has pending requests. Fulfill or deny them before deleting it.": open Redemption requests, handle its pending requests, then delete it with Delete reward.
- You denied a request by mistake: click the pencil icon on the request (Reopen this request), then click Reopen. The refunded points are taken back from the advocate's balance, and the request goes back to the queue. Fulfilled requests can't be reopened.
- "The points refund is still processing.": the request is denied. The advocate's points come back shortly.
- A request is missing: set the filter back to All status and clear the search box.
Keep catalogue state separate from request state
A reward's Active or Paused status controls catalogue availability. Its redeemed count and pending count describe requests already made. Pausing a reward is not the same as fulfilling or denying those requests. Check Redemption requests, its status filter and search before changing or deleting a reward.
When editing a reward, its points cost must be a whole number of at least 1. Review the title, optional description and points before saving. A fulfilled request cannot be reopened. Reopening a denied request takes the refunded points back and returns it to pending, so inspect the request's current state before using that action.
