Check how a boosted post is performing
On this page
See how much a Facebook ad or boosted post has spent, and how many people it has reached, without leaving Social Champ.
Before you start
- The post must be boosted or promoted from a Facebook Page with a connected ads account.
- To refresh the figures, you need access to Analytics for that account.
Open the feature
Find the boosted post in Analytics under Post Overview, or on the Calendar. A boosted post shows Sponsored under the account name. Click Sponsored, then choose View details. The Ad Details window opens.
Steps
- Under Performance, read the ad's figures: Amount spent, Impressions, Reach and Clicks.
- Check the age next to them, for example Updated 12 minutes ago. It tells you when Social Champ last read these numbers from Meta.
- To get the latest numbers now, choose Refresh. The figures and their age update when the refresh finishes.
Expected result
The Performance figures show the ad's totals since it started, with the time they were last updated. When Refresh gets new numbers from Meta, the age reads Updated just now.
If the figures were updated in the last 5 minutes, Refresh doesn't fetch them again, because Meta won't have newer numbers yet. You'll see Already up to date with the time of the last update instead. This isn't an error.
Example
Your launch boost has been running since the morning. Open its Ad Details, check Amount spent against the budget shown under Budget, then choose Refresh before you report the spend to your team.
Limits and permissions
- Figures are available for Facebook Page ads only, and cover the ad's Facebook placement.
- Social Champ keeps the figures up to date while the ad is running and for 7 days after it stops. The age always shows when they were last read.
- Conversions aren't shown. Meta keeps adjusting them for days after a click.
- Budget is what you set for the ad, either per day (for example USD 10/day) or in total (USD 50 lifetime). Amount spent is what the ad has actually spent so far.
- Refreshing doesn't change the ad, its budget or its delivery.
Troubleshooting
- You see "No figures yet": a new ad has no figures until Social Champ first reads them. Choose Refresh, or check back later.
- You see "Meta hasn't sent newer figures for this ad yet": the refresh ran, but Meta had nothing new for this ad, for example because it hasn't started delivering. The figures shown are the last ones read. Try again in a few minutes.
- You see "These figures are already being refreshed": someone else on your team started a refresh, or Social Champ's scheduled update is reading this Page right now. Check back in a few minutes.
- You see "Meta is limiting how often we can ask for these figures": Meta is limiting requests for this ad account. Social Champ waits a few minutes before asking again, so the account's limits aren't used up further. The figures shown are still the last ones read.
- You see "We couldn't refresh the ad figures": Meta didn't answer. The figures shown are still the last ones read. Try again in a few minutes.
- Refresh doesn't appear: the post isn't from a Facebook Page, or you opened it from a place that can't refresh it, such as a shared report, a shared calendar or the demo workspace. Open it from your own Analytics or Calendar.
- You see "Refreshing ad figures isn't available yet": on-demand refresh isn't live yet. The figures shown are the last ones read, and they still update on their own. Try again later.
- You see "This ad is no longer available to refresh": the ad was removed, or no longer belongs to this Page, since you opened the page. Reload the page to see its latest details.
- Refresh keeps failing: reconnect the Facebook Page and its ads account. See Connect ads accounts.
