Sign in with the Meta, Google Ads, TikTok or LinkedIn login your agency uses for a client, and assign one of its ad accounts to that client's workspace.

Before you start

  • The client must give your agency access to their ad account first:
    • Meta: add your agency as an advertiser in Meta Business Manager.
    • Google Ads: link the account to your Google Ads manager account.
    • TikTok: share the TikTok ad account with your Business Center.
    • LinkedIn: add your LinkedIn login to the ad account in Campaign Manager as a Campaign manager or Account manager.
  • You need to be the account owner or an Admin in the client's workspace.
  • This is separate from connecting the client's profiles for posting. You don't need them connected.

Open the feature

Click Ads in the left menu, then Ad accounts, then Add ad account.

Steps

  1. Choose Meta, Google Ads, TikTok or LinkedIn.
  2. Click Continue with the network and sign in on the network's page. Allow access to manage ads.
  3. Back in Social Champ, the window lists the ad accounts that login can manage. Choose one.
  4. Under Assign to client workspace, choose the client.
  5. Click Add ad account.

Expected result

The ad account appears under Ad accounts as Connected, with its monthly allowance. Nothing is charged and nothing changes in the ad account.

Example

The juice bar added your agency to its Meta ad account. You click Add ad account, choose Meta, sign in with your agency's Facebook login, pick Juice Bar Ads and assign it to the Juice Bar workspace.

Limits and permissions

  • One ad account per network for each client workspace.
  • Ad accounts lists ad accounts, not the logins behind them.
  • An ad account assigned to another client is marked. Choosing it moves it, unless it still has campaigns that can spend. End those first.
  • Ad accounts in a currency the networks' ads tools don't support here can't be chosen.
  • Each ad account gets a monthly allowance. If none is set for its currency, request one before launching. See Request a higher monthly allowance.
  • Spend is billed by the network to the card on the ad account. Social Champ never charges for ad spend.

Troubleshooting

  • "This login can't reach any ad accounts": ask the client to add your agency to the ad account, then click Check again, or sign in with a different login.
  • "Ads access wasn't granted": sign in again and allow Social Champ to manage ads.
  • "Google didn't return a lasting sign-in": remove Social Champ from your Google account's third-party access, then sign in again.
  • An ad account shows Access removed: the client removed your agency's access. Ask them to add it back, then click the reconnect icon on the account.
  • An ad account shows Sign-in expired: click the reconnect icon and sign in again. LinkedIn sign-ins expire after 60 days.
